Wrigley Confections Joins the Natural Colour Debate at the Natural Colour Summit 2014
LONDON, March 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
The trend towards natural colour is continuing in full force. This is fuelling the need for further R&D into natural colour ingredients and the application of these to provide stable and long-lasting colour. Jiří Baron, Confections Technical Manager at WRIGLEY CONFECTIONS, will be joining the manufacturer panel at the Natural Colour Summit in Munich on 25-26 March 2014, organised by Food ingredients.
Wrigley and PepsiCo will head the panel discussion and other manufacturers in the audience including Red Bull, Mars Chocolate, L'Oréal, Orangina Schweppes, Mars Petcare, Orkla Foods and many more will be invited to debate the real-world challenges with natural colour reformulation. They will consider the available 'natural' colours and colouring foodstuffs on the market, establishing the need for innovation versus working with what is available. In a pre-event interview with Food ingredients, speaker Thananunt Rojanasasithara, R&D Associate Principal Scientist: Beverage Applications at PepsiCo, advised F&B manufacturers looking at incorporating natural colour into their products to "understand the nature of colours, products, and factors impacting colour stability, cost, and regulatory compliance in order to select the right colours for the right applications". Thananunt will be giving more information on how PepsiCo do this in her case study at the conference.
Food ingredients caught up with conference chair Steve Osborn, Business Innovation Manager at Leatherhead Food Research, ahead of the event. "Last year saw over 120 delegates from over 30 countries exploring the challenges in natural colours and seeking solutions" said Steve, "and this year we are going to be looking at some of the key regulatory trends and some of the key technological challenges at this really exciting event".
Now in its 7th year, the Natural Colour Summit 2014 continues to attract the who's who of the F&B colour community to discuss ongoing challenges with natural colour reformulation. Places are filling up fast as companies look forward to this world-leading event for networking and professional development so they can meet the demands from health-conscious consumers seeking out natural ingredients in their F&B products.
