On submission of a name and address and optional date of birth, VouchID will confirm the individual's credentials against a number of private and public databases, confirm that the individual is not dead (to prevent identity theft), check the date of birth, and whether they are over 18 in the case of age restricted products.

The service will also alert if there are any negative indicators about the person, such as County Court Judgments. It is also well suited for lawyers conducting electronic KYC (Know Your Customer) checks.
