Raiché Mederick Awarded Young Londoner of the Year 2016 by the Mayor's Fund for London
LONDON, December 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
The 3rd annual Mayor's Fund for London Awards, held 1st December at City Hall, awarded 23 year old Raiché Mederick the Young Londoner of the Year (16-24 yrs old) Award 2016. From a shortlist of three outstanding young people, Raiché, from Waltham Forest, shone through for her bravery, entrepreneurship and desire to help others.
Raiché always had a passion for events and helping others and so signed up to the Mayor's Fund for London's Creativity Works: Festivals programme, supported by the Berkeley Foundation and delivered in partnership with A New Direction and Create.
With the support of Creativity Works, Raiché has secured a place at the hugely competitive Cato Academy for Tour and Music Management with a bursary. That, along with her extensive charity work, has meant that she hasn't looked back since and regularly returns to advise new recruits to Creativity Works and new Mentors.
Having suffered from severe burns as a child, Raiché has become a figure of support and a good friend to many, with her amazing motivation and positivity. Raiché is establishing her own charity for burns survivors aged 18+ and will focus on helping them through burns trauma.
