One Young World: Kenyan Nationals Selected to Attend Global Youth Summit As Enterprise for Peace Scholars

Eric Muene, George Kamuhu Ranji, Jackson Kiprono, Joan Wambua and Clarena Jemunyango Amatha have been selected to represent Kenya in the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Enterprise for Peace Scholarship

LONDON, Nov. 25, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- The winners attended this year's One Young World Summit in London, as part of a global search for the world's most impactful young leaders who are spreading knowledge and ideas on how to create youth employment opportunities for prosperous and peaceful societies.

• Eric Muene: An Agronomist who increased coffee grown in one region from 7.5 million kilograms per year to 10.2 million.
• George Kamuhu Ranji: George empowers the local community through educating the farming community.
• Jackson Kiprono: Mobilised young farmers throughout Kenya to join the diary business.
• Joan Wambua:  Joan Wambua is the founder of Lulu Thamani Organization. She is passionate about promoting gender equality through empowering women to be better and understand their true value. 
• Clarena Jemunyango Amatha: is the Founder and Managing Director of TransFarm Ventures committed towards transforming farming; reducing hunger and malnutrition, creating decent jobs for youth, men and women and boosting Kenya's economic growth. 

The work of these chosen scholars helps tackle one of the biggest development challenges we face – lack of employment opportunities. The consequences for young people such as unemployment, inequality, marginalization and disaffection are far-reaching but wider communities also suffer from the effects of high levels of youth unemployment; including poverty, violent extremism, political instability, drugs and crime.
