Ruddy and Cetra are already widely known as the designers behind such major residential works as One Madison and Walker Tower in New York. They are also highly regarded for hospitality expertise, including the Galleria hotel in Jeddah, the acclaimed SushiSamba in London, and Miami's Sugarcane.
In a significant recent expansion for the 90-plus-person firm, CetraRuddy has taken on cultural and educational projects around the world, including university residences in the U.S. and three new K-12 schools in India. The firm's Lincoln Square Synagogue is acclaimed as among America's "best new buildings." In addition, the firm just launched a product design business, with IRP's new INSPIRA by CetraRuddy kitchen collection.
The induction of John Cetra, AIA, and Nancy J. Ruddy, into the Interior Design Hall of Fame, announced by Interior Design magazine this month, caps a long list of honors and appearances in 2015. It also reflects both the quality of their work and increasing influence in the design world. In New York City alone, the firm has completed both the architecture and interiors for more than 80 buildings.
"The Hall of Fame honors architects, interior designers, and industry luminaries whose talent, vision, and dedication contribute to the progression of the positive impact of design everywhere," said Interior Design editor in chief, Cindy Allen, describing Cetra and Ruddy as "business and creative soul mates whose collective work enhances the lives of their clients, our community, and our design world."
