Dipl.-Ing. Michael Jungnitsch (51) has been designated as the new CEO of VDE Testing and Certification Institute in Offenbach, Germany. Effective March 1, 2014, Jungnitsch - former Chief Regional Officer of TÜV Rheinland in Asia-Pacific - will succeed Dipl.-Ing. Dipl.-Kfm. Wilfried Jäger, who is retiring after serving as head of the VDE Institute for 18 years.

The designated CEO Michael Jungnitsch has extensive expertise and experience as an electrical engineer, Asia expert, and manager in the area of product testing and certification. He studied electrical engineering in Bochum and engineering management in Vienna. In the TÜV Rheinland Group, he held a variety of positions, including Managing Director in Korea and Japan and head of product safety in Germany. Jungnitsch is actively engaged in many international organizations and representations of interests.
As CEO of VDE Testing and Certification Institute, Jungnitsch will head a world-renowned institution in the field of testing and certification of electrical and electronic devices, components and systems.
