LoCo Connect 2014: Experts Discuss Local Commerce
DUSSELDORF, Germany, November 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
How can the shop around the corner score against the mighty Internet? The answer is "local commerce."
An increasing number of retail companies rely on services such as Location Based Services (LBS) and electronic media to provide shopping via the click of a mouse. At LoCo Connect 2014, Europe's first conference on Local Commerce, we will bring together local commerce experts to meet for the first time for an international exchange of experiences and opinions on 28 January in Amsterdam.
From real-time advertising on mobile phones through to digital wallets, investment opportunities in local commerce to future trends for retailers: many specialists and companies will share their knowledge at LoCo Connect. Furthermore, there are many opportunities for networking and learning about specific LBS applications. The event has attracted more than 70 speakers - from the world's leading Local Commerce companies including innovative startups and well-known tech bloggers. Speakers include Kerstin Trikalitis, CEO of OutThere Media, Anupam Rastogi, Principal of Nokia Growth Partners, Christian Geissendoerfer, CEO of YOOSE, Kevin McGovern, COO of Blismedia, Tom Valetine, Managing Director of Secret Escapes, Konstantin Wolff, CMO of Payleven and Itir Erel from Turkcell.
Analysts from Berg Insight have found in a recent survey that the LBS revenues in Europe will grow to around 825 million euros by 2017.
Clothing stores, for example, are at the forefront of physical stores enabling customers to try on goods, to compare the product or to speak directly with sellers. The focus of Local Commerce is the use of online and mobile technologies to support customers to find local businesses and to promote products.
"We are very delighted to have attracted the crème de la crème of Local Commerce, to speak at the LoCo Connect 2014 about their experiences and to share their knowledge. After many years, in which online commerce has been the forerunner, it is now time that technological trends and opportunities focus more on Local Commerce," says Stavros Prodromou, Founder and Conference Director of Loco Connect 2014.
