While many people are either recovering from or training for fundraising events over the summer, this weekend best-selling author and investor Rob Moore attempted a slightly different marathon world record attempt.

The Peterborough-based entrepreneur has helped thousands of investors build property portfolios by sharing the tips that have helped him and his business partner create a multi-million pound company in the last decade. This weekend, Rob dispatched tried and tested investment and business advice over three days and nights to snatch the Guinness World Record for the longest ever speech from Dr Pothula Srinivasa Brahmanand, who held the previous record at 33 hours and 46 minutes, set on September 8th and 9th, 2012. Rob smashed it with his 46 hours and 39 minute speech, with the rules banning him from using video or audio recordings to fill in any gaps and giving him just one five minute break for every hour of speaking.
Usually delegates would pay upwards of £2,000 to attend one of Rob and business partner Mark Homer's property events, but for this Record Attempt, Rob instead asked for donations to Sue Ryder's Thorpe Hall Hospice Capital Appeal which is raising £6 million to build a new hospice, Rob managed to raise them a fantastic £25,063.76.
Rob said: "In line with the current property boom, I wanted to share as many property investing strategies as I could to help entrepreneurs cash in. The problem for many is the cost of the equivalent training which would stand at almost £5,400. I saw this world record attempt as the perfect opportunity for me to give back to people who want to cash in on the boom, and for them to help me break a world record I'm so pleased to hold. My Nan passed away in a home recently so I do feel an empathy with Thorpe Hall and I'm so glad I could help."
