Dell Locates Its First Western China Customer Service Center in Tianfu Software Park
CHENGDU, China, January 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --
Dell, the world's second-largest PC maker, has formally launched its customer service center in Chengdu Tianfu Software Park (http://www.tianfusoftwarepark.com/?utm_source=PR%2BNewswire&utm_medium=Press% 2BRelease&utm_campaign=Dell%2Bnews%2Bprnewswire), the largest software park operation in China. This center has a capacity of 400 seats in the first phase of operation and is Dell's third customer service center in China and the first in the western China region.

The flagship base of China's second operations center in Chengdu adds manufacturing, sales and services, to support the rapid growth in business occurring in western China. The expansion is also to support the Western-China Development Strategy (Go-West policy) aimed at developing the country's inner-western region for trade and commerce," said Steve Felice, President of Dell's global small and medium business operations.
China's national "Go West Policy" strategy has successfully attracted a large number of foreign enterprises to Chengdu in the past few years, such as Intel, Texas Instruments, Alcatel-Lucent, Motorola, Sony and Hitachi. As per today, 179 Global 500 companies have a presence in Chengdu as well as11 of the top 20 software enterprises. Chengdu was listed as one of the World's Fastest-Growing Cities over the next decade by Forbes Magazine last October, and named as the top investment destination in China by the American Chamber of Commerce in 2010.

The customer service center is the first project of Dell's flagship base launched in Chengdu; other projects will be started up successively in 2011. The Chengdu site could grow to 3,000 team members in the end of this year.
