The 60-page perfect-bound magazine will focus on content that encourages travel around the Chilterns and the Heart of England between London, Oxford, Birmingham and including Warwick, Stratford-upon-Avon and Leamington Spa as well as the smaller towns and villages.
The magazine (250,000 copies) will be given away free at railway stations on the Chiltern Railway line, which boasts 2 million passenger journeys each month and will also be distributed to tourism hot spots. The magazine will also be available digitally and optimised for mobile media.
This region is one of the most beautiful and culturally wealthy regions of the UK and includes the Chiltern Hills, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Shakespeare's England.
Our readers are passionate about culture and protecting the environment in which they live, travel and work. Chiltern Traveller is about inspiring that discerning lifestyle with some quality time reading our magazine (online and in print), relaxing and researching what to do in town and country.
Our readers will travel there by car, train, on foot and bike - and of course we will be encouraging them to get there by the greener options!
In the first issue we have an exclusive article by Cheryl Gillan, MP with her views on the controversial planned railway High Speed 2 and its potential impact on her constituency, Chesham & Amersham, and an interview with international opera singer Lesley Garrett, who is currently appearing in Così fan tutte at Garsington in Oxfordshire.
Chiltern Traveller's editorial will include:
Editor Avril O'Connor said: "We are really excited by the potential for our magazine. We will be producing stories in a classy, glossy format that people really want to read, that will inspire them to jump out of their seats and go places. We will also be putting the magazine directly into the hands of travellers who have time to read on a train!"
