Big Sofa is an innovative technology company that helps organisations make more meaning from digital content, including video, images and audio. Founders Simon Lidington and Matt Lynch recognised five years ago that there would be a be a need for technology to manage the growing volume of consumer-generated video content, so they set to work building an online platform on which content can be easily uploaded from any source, and then searched, analysed and shared.
Several years later, Big Sofa leads the way in managing video and images for blue-chip clients such as Unilever, British Airways and Barclays. These global companies use our technology to curate and manage their consumer video and other digital assets. We enable them to upload, search, share, tag, chapter and comment on content.
Big Sofa is increasingly partnering with research agencies to help manage video created in online and mobile research. Recent studies forecast that 30% of all research will be conducted via mobile within 18 months. We've already noticed this increased appetite, and can only see it getting stronger.
Twitter and Facebook are now strongly pushing their video-sharing applications, and new, simple modes of capture and sharing are coming to market every month. This is great news for Big Sofa: our technology can be used in any sector where users need to organise, interact with and understand large volumes of visual content.
So we're seeking investment to help us take the next step in our growth. We want to continue to develop new features and improve the platform by incorporating new and innovative emerging technology.
