50 cycles electric bikes announces the arrival of the first electric bikes powered by Kalkhoff's new Impulse assistance system.

As one of the most significant players driving electric bicycle development Kalkhoff took the established Panasonic electric bike system, boosted its power and range and used it to drive breakthrough e-bikes like the Agattu onto an electric bike scene that had depended upon cheap, often unreliable imports. They quickly became best-sellers across Europe.

As part of Derby Cycle AG, the largest bicycle manufacturer in Germany, Kalkhoff benefits from unrivalled research, development and testing facilities. With the introduction of ultra-long-range, long-lifespan 18Ah battery packs last season, Kalkhoff electric bikes opened up an even greater market lead.

A Sudden Impulse

Then out of the blue last Spring, they revealed that they'd developed their very own Impulse electric bicycle system. The surprise announcement in Berlin last March went down so well with German e-bike dealers that several thousand Impulse-powered bikes were ordered within a day of that first podium presentation.

Kalkhoff Impulse comes to 50cycles this season

Soon recognising the international potential of their Impulse e-bike drive, Kalkhoff developed a version for the export market that debuts on 50cycles' Agattu Impulse electric bike range this season. The top Agattu Premium C11 Impulse model comes with Shimano's 11-speed hub and an LCD screen displaying the amount of CO₂ and money saved by riding your electric bike, compared to a car.

Kalkhoff have taken a good long look at other e-bike systems and made improvements that add up to a satisfying electric bike riding experience, whatever the terrain or rider's ability.
