Mr. Amsterdam will discuss the current political situation in Thailand, the tensions at play between the elite and the people, the rule of law and its worrying degradation.
Robert Amsterdam is founding partner of the international law firm Amsterdam & Partners LLP. He is a leading lawyer in international disputes and is presently retained by political and business leaders in the CIS, Africa and South East Asia.
He is privileged to act as Counsel to the United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorship in Thailand (the Red Shirt Movement). In that capacity he has brought the suspension of democratic governance in Thailand to numerous world bodies, including the International Criminal Court and the Inter Parliamentary Union.
In 2013, Mr. Amsterdam was the Winner of The American Lawyer Global Pro bono Dispute of the year for Tadonki v. General Secretary of the United Nations.
