Karstadt Awarded: K Town is "International Store of the Year"

The new Karstadt shop-concept K Town has been awarded "International Store of the Year" and "International Department Store of the Year". The award ceremony of the internationally renowned magazine "Retail Week" took place in London yesterday evening.
Winning in the categories "International Store of the Year" and "International Department Store of the Year" Karstadt's K Town was ahead of international retailers such as Selfridges, John Lewis, Marks and Spencer and Topshop. "These awards make us very proud and they are an enormous reassurance that we are on the right track with our new, young and lifestyle-oriented concept K Town," says Andrew Jennings, Karstadt CEO.
After the success of the pilot project K Town in Göttingen Karstadt recently opened a second K Town in Cologne.
The new Shop-concept is an important part of the strategy "Karstadt 2015". K Town combines attractive, trendy brands in fashion, shoes and accessories with a trendy and modern atmosphere and with this contributes further to the modernisation and differentiation of Karstadt.
In December 2011 K Town was awarded the prize "Store of the Month" by trade magazine TM.
