Graciously connecting Regents Park and Upper Regent Street, this location provides Abercorn families access to one more landmark to consolidate their educational journey. Under the unparalleled beauty and charm of Wedgewood ceilings, the pupils' lessons will continue with the same enthusiasm and challenge consistent in the school at its other sites in St. John's Wood and Marylebone.
Formerly home to the Royal College of Radiologists, the building's features and stunning exterior lend themselves to grand imaginations of era gone by and connote central London at its very finest.
Dedicated facilities, including a purpose built Science Lab and a standalone Design & Technology centre, enhance learning and offer space and resources for practical application in key disciplines.
A new library, majestic and serene, will become the heart of the school, promoting a culture of appreciation and learning through both collaboration and personal reflection.
A music wing provides discrete space for class instruction in both theory and appreciation, flanked by individual private music practice rooms for one-to-one tuition.
Technology will marry seamlessly with the period appointment of the building. Wireless connectivity will maintain maximum efficiency with minimal intrusion. Interactive Whiteboards, desks with incorporated computer terminals, and tablet carts will reinforce access to technology; embedding it organically into all areas of learning.
There will be a Common Room for the oldest students-- a place dedicated to their social and emotional well-being where they can sit with friends, start work on a piece of coursework or just absorb their day in the comfort of their peers.
The stunning grounds of Regents Park at the end of the road offer unrivalled outside space, in addition to which pupils visit Seymour Place, Paddington Recreation Ground and other local sporting venues.
As the school embarks on this latest adventure, it holds fast to the educational principles that Abercorn values so highly; that this building, as with the nursery and early years and pre-prep departments, delivers the optimal environment in which all children and staff can thrive and from where pupils can leave us, prepared and eager to face the challenges of opportunity of their years ahead.
