About Us

Founders

We believe in the alliance of 'Theory' and 'Practice' and that's why The TranslationHouse company was founded and is run by 3 professional academics, two of whom holding PhD degrees in Translation Studies, while benefiting from years of practical experience working for reputable translation companies worldwide. Such background has been invaluable in assigning projects to qualified translators and proof-readers to ensure clients' satisfaction is met.

• Company's managing director, and also a co-founder, has a PhD in Translation Studies from the University of Salford (Manchester, UK). Her book, titled "Translator's Habitus and Shifts" and published by VDM, is now sold in a number of major bookshops. She has handled many large projects for well-known end-clients since 1995 in various fields including TV documentaries, News articles, Automotive, Humanities, Legal and IT.
• Our second co-founder obtained his PhD in Translation Studies from Warwick University and has extensive teaching and practical experience in the field since 1992.
• Our third co-founder has a wide-ranging academic and professional experience in Engineering, Management and IT. He holds first and second degrees in Engineering and a PhD degree in IT and Machine Learning from Manchester University. He started exercising translation of technical texts in 1987. His experience also includes establishing start-up businesses since 1989 and over five years of teaching MBA students.
