TapTap wristband: new way to say "I love you"
NEW YORK, Oct. 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Woodenshark, creators of TV ambient light system Lightpack, is announcing the launch of another Kickstarter campaign to fund TapTap - a wristband designed to keep in touch with your significant other long distance*.

TapTap senses your "taps" and instantly transmits them to the paired wristband worn by that special someone - even if they're halfway around the world. It's that simple - you tap one TapTap, the other one vibrates. TapTap opens endless possibilities for creating special signals to enrich your long-distance relationship.
TapTap takes pride in its deliberate rejection of integrating with social networks. "We've decided to go post-social and make TapTap communications very private," says Dmitry Gorilovsky, the founder of Woodenshark. All communications between paired TapTaps are fully encrypted, and none of your information will be stored.
Developers can use open SDK and built-in sensors to create apps for TapTap, such as smart alarms, activity trackers and gesture controllers for gaming. Some apps like RunKeeper are supported out of the box.
TapTaps are sold in pairs for $130 and can be delivered separately in your colors of choice. They are paired via Bluetooth with your smartphone. All that's left to do is install the app from the respective store and provide the email addresses of you and your partner. Both Android (with Bluetooth 2.1 and above) and iPhone (4S and newer) are supported. TapTap weighs just one ounce (30 grams) and lasts about 6 to 8 days off a single battery charge.
The Kickstarter campaign launches today and will last till November 22nd. Our goal is to raise $130,000 to begin mass-production and deliver first TapTaps in April 2014.
