Meridian Foods wishes to make it clear that its peanut butter does not contain any trans fats. Peanuts are naturally without trans fats; Meridian does not use any other added fats that 'may' contain trans fats.
Meridian produces a range of nut butters, including peanut, almond and cashew, which contain 100% nuts with nothing added.
The author of the study, Professor Van den Brandt, stated that most peanut butters didn't offer the same benefits as nuts due to the fact that they contain trans fats and salt.
According to McCance & Widdowson The Composition of Foods, published by Public Health England, peanuts contain no trans fats.
Meridian Foods does not use palm oil and is committed to producing the most natural products that are free from artificial ingredients.
