Sponsorship Makes its Mark in Media Week's 30 Under 30
LONDON, July 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
Slingshot Sponsorship's Managing Director Jackie Fast has been named one of Media Week's 30 Under 30.
This is one of the first times a sponsorship agency has been recognised on Media Week's 30 Under 30, highlighting the increase in strategy development and the growing importance sponsorship plays within the media and marketing sectors.
More recently, organisations and brands have been forced to utilise additional revenue streams as well as reduce marketing spend due to the recession and public funding cuts. Furthermore, with London 2012 dominating marketing spend, sponsorship is gaining more credibility as a marketing channel than ever before. At the same time, the integration and introduction of new marketing mediums through digital channels has evolved the potential of how sponsorship rights can be used by brands. This has created a very unique opportunity for sponsorship to increase its marketing share.
Historically, sponsorship agencies have focussed on sport; however, brands and organisations have started to leverage the benefits of highly tailored brand partnerships that require less marketing spend and integrate a broader range of marketing channels. The significant increase and success of these partnerships have challenged both the sponsorship industry as well as brand marketing spends, which is evident with the growing recognition on marketing accolades such as Media Week's 30 Under 30.
Jackie Fast commented, "Our agency focuses on evolving the traditional sponsorship channel - pushing boundaries and creating unique propositions that leverage brand partnerships. Rather than working on larger campaigns that focus on logo badging with perimeter boards, we uncover the insight between partners and help them achieve more together. Being recognised in Media Week's 30 Under 30 is testament to our unique sponsorship strategy and growing value of sponsorship."
Jackie Fast was selected by a team of industry judges including Marcus Rich, MD at the Mail on Sunday; David Wilding, planning director at PHD; Tom Dunn, digital strategy director at Maxus; Karen Stacey, broadcast sales director for Bauer Media; Clare Rush, joint head of investment at MEC, and Media Week editor Jeremy King.
