Scotland: St Andrews Most Expensive Spring Destination in the UK

The Scottish university town of St Andrews is the most expensive spring destination in the United Kingdom in 2016, according to a survey conducted by Cheaprooms.co.uk. The survey determined the Top 20 priciest destinations based on the cost of accommodation during the month of May.
Visitors to St Andrews in May will have to pay an average of £119 per night for the most affordable double room. The next two most expensive destinations, Bath and Oxford, both have average rates of £112 per night.
Two more Scottish destinations made it into the Top 10: Fort William, the largest town in the Highlands region, which comes 4th in the survey with an average rate of £104 per night, and the town of Pitlochry, located on the River Tummel, which ranks 7th with an average rate of £93. The Scottish capital of Edinburgh comes 12th, with an average rate of £84.
The following table shows the 10 most expensive spring destinations in the United Kingdom. The prices shown reflect the average daily rate for each location's cheapest available double room (for a minimum 3-star, centrally-located hotel) for the period spanning 1 - 31 May. Please note: The survey considered all UK destinations home to 15 hotels or more.
