Studies by leading scientists find evidence that Back App improves posture and decreases stress.
Thanks to recent studies by leading scientists at European universities, there is evidence that Back App, a chair designed to reduce back pain for office-workers everywhere, not only makes it easier to sit upright but also improves your posture and decreases stress.
Scientists Wim Dankaerts, University of Leuven, Belgium and Kieran O'Sullivan, University of Limerick, Ireland conducted studies of people who suffer from back pain while sitting. They found that pain diminished measurably - significantly - with Back App, compared with sitting on a modern, high quality office chair with a backrest and armrests.

During a typing task in one study, subjects sat very close to neutral spine on Back App, without being asked to, and back muscle activity was 36-54% lower. Also, when asked to maintain a "good" posture, Back App required 21% less "effort" and significantly less (44%) muscle activation.
By making the sitter balance freely, Back App ensures the spine finds its optimal upright position where little energy is needed. There's no need for an ordinary office chair, as you can sit on Back App all day long.
Back App's design also makes it easier to switch from a sitting to a standing position, and as such may require a higher desk position. During the adaption period it is suggested that users sit for shorter periods and keep the adjustable balance ball in the green zone, for a smoother transition from ordinary chairs.
