Rock Creek Pharmaceuticals Offers International Shipping Options for Anatabloc™

Rock Creek Pharmaceuticals, a subsidiary of Star Scientific, Inc. (NASDAQ: CIGX), has announced the expansion of shipping options for purchases of its dietary supplement, Anatabloc™. As the company indicated in an August 30 release on the product launch, Anatabloc™ contains the dietary ingredient anatabine citrate. Anatabine is an alkaloid that is found in a variety of plants in the Solinacea family, including the tobacco plant as well as in eggplant, green peppers and green tomatoes. Anatabine citrate, combined with Vitamins A and D3, is believed to assist the body in maintaining anti-inflammatory support. Excess inflammation is linked with a variety of auto-immune conditions that includes thyroid dysfunction, arthritis and Alzheimer's disease.

On Friday, September 23, capacity for shipments to Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand was launched. Yesterday, Rock Creek initiated an international shipping process for the following countries around the globe: Italy, Belgium, Israel, Singapore, Ireland, France, Switzerland, Netherlands, South Africa, Argentina, Spain, Norway and Japan. The company indicated that it will continue to explore options for shipping to additional countries during the next quarter that will be based on consumer demand for Anatabloc™. As new countries are added, they will be included in the listing on the product website, which can be found at http://www.anatabloc.com, or by calling the customer center at 1-800-778-2031. Paul L. The company also has announced the commencement of a clinical trial in Martinsburg, West Virginia examining the effect of Anatabloc™ on smoking and inflammation among approximately 100 smokers. That study is being conducted by the company's in-house research teams at Rock Creek Pharmaceuticals and Star Scientific, with oversight by Curtis Wright, IV, MD/MPH, Rock Creek Senior Vice President for Medical/Clinical Affairs. Maria Varga, MD, Senior Medical Director of Star Scientific, Inc. is the principal investigator. It is expected that the study will be completed during the fourth quarter.
