Prince Charles Taught Holland's Most Important Word Using 270,000 Flowers
AMSTERDAM, April 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
Guests at King Willem-Alexander's inauguration are treated to a one-word language course.
On April 30th, the Dutch will shout "Long live the King" for the first time in 122 years. The international guests to the inauguration ceremony will answer with a loud: "Hoera, Hoera, Hoera!". To ensure the correct pronunciation, the Dutch floricultural sector has created a spectacular one-word language course using over 270,000 flowers to do the work. The course has also been specially adapted for the British Royal family and the public watching the ceremony on TV.
Extensive preparations are under way in Holland for Willem-Alexander's inauguration. As flowers play a central role in the day's festive decoration, the sector is literally working night and day to get the required flowers to the official festivities on time and in the best possible condition. While doing so, they've had a lot of fun making this rather peculiar, one-word language course for guests: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRIlOHL3Zec
The Hoera! Tradition
After three successive Queens - Wilhelmina, Juliana and Beatrix - The Netherlands will be now be under the reign of a King again. During the official ceremony on 30 April, "Long live the King" will be exclaimed for the first time in 122 years. Tradition dictates that all attendees in the New Church in Amsterdam will then respond with an exuberant "Hoera, Hoera, Hoera". Although the difference with 'Hooray!' is only subtle, a language course is obviously indispensable in such an important occasion.
A Worldwide Occasion
Hundreds of employees at the Flower Auction in Aalsmeer have worked hard to design several choreographies featuring more than 270,000 flowers. This ballet-like language course is also available in German, Spanish and French. All of this has been undertaken to ensure all invitees, and the TV audience worldwide, cheer with one clear Dutch voice: Hoera, Hoera, Hoera!
