Premier Farnell Wins Yorkshire Business Insider International Trade Award
LONDON, May 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
Premier Farnell has won the Technology Provider category in the Yorkshire Business Insider International Trade Awards.
Held at the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds, Yorkshire, over 200 representatives from businesses across the region attended the awards dinner.
This year entrants were required to describe their significant and growing sales outside the UK and explain how they plan to grow their export business. In addition judges were looking at how companies planned to use innovation and meet customer needs in the future.
Judges praised Premier Farnell for its use of 29 different local language transactional websites, and the great use of the element14 Community for design engineers, which now has over 170,000 registered members around the world.
Premier Farnell beat off stiff competition in the category from specialist manufacturing company Produmax and global software solutions provider WANdisco.
Commenting on the award Rob Rospepedzihowski, Commercial Sales Director, Premier Farnell, said: "We are delighted to win this award from Yorkshire Business Insider. Premier Farnell has made a concerted move into the Eastern European market, which has been primarily driven through online. The ability to deliver to all Eastern European countries in 24 hours from Leeds, and a second distribution centre in Liege, Belgium, with locally translated web content is a major differential advantage in the supply of electronic component products both locally and internationally."
Farnell element14 is a high-service distributor of technology products and solutions for electronic system design, maintenance and repair including an extensive range of development kits, capacitors, resistors, connectors, switches / relays, semiconductors and cables.
