Monki to Open Store No. 100!

Time flies when you're having fun. Monki is very happy to announce the opening of their hundredth store on the 30 September this year, having reached that number in just nine years. The concept store in question is located in the Jing 'an District's Crystal Galleria, Shanghai, China, and Monki has decided to celebrate by giving a treat to one customer in each of its 100 stores around the world. In other words: the hundredth customer to shop in each of the 100 stores the Saturday following the opening will get a present from Monki.

"Saturday 3 October is a great day to visit your local Monki store!" Lea Rytz Goldman, managing Director at Monki says. "Of course, every day is a really great day to visit your Monki store, but on the 3 October we're treating the hundredth customer in every store to a surprise gift."

Monki also encourages customers to tune into #monkiworld100 on Instagram during the weekend, to get updates from around the world, and quite a lot of glitter.
The store is designed to give customers in the renowned city an experience out of the ordinary by offering a retail environment inspired by a different universe, the Monki World. A motto that has followed Monki since the first store opening in Gothenburg, Sweden and through the quick growth that followed as the brand opened concept stores in first Scandinavia, and later continental Europe, followed by an expansion in Asia.

"Actually, we designed our first store before we even was a collection, says Catharina Frankander, Head of Store Concept. "We just dived right in, we were so enthusiastic to realize our ideas for how to create an outstanding experience on the high street. The best thing? We still feel the same way."
