Italtel and Tieto Poland Cooperate on NGN Solutions and Provide a Turnkey Solution to Polish Operator TK Telekom

Italtel and Tieto signed a partnership agreement to allow Polish operator TK Telekom to deliver advanced Triple Play services to residential and business customers. The agreement provides the baseline to widen the range of solutions offered to service providers for management and creation of Next Generation Networks (NGN).

Italtel, a leading player in the development and integration of fixed and mobile networks, and Tieto, an international IT concern providing services for building and maintaining IT systems, announce that they signed a partnership agreement in the segment of Next Generation Network (NGN) solutions, having as first implementation the deployment of a IT and network solution for TK Telekom.

Thanks to the mutual cooperation, Tieto shall become a significant competence centre in the scope of consulting and implementation of Italtel systems: "Our clients in Poland will be able to benefit from additional solutions in the scope of access to broadband Internet network, IP telecom or highly efficient HD quality image and sound transmission.What is more, part of the said solutions will be accessible in SaaS (Software as a Service) model service- says Zbigniew Długosz, Sales Department Director at Tieto Poland.

The solution implemented for TK Telekom consists in: completion and partial replacement of current telecom network of this operator and implementation of Intelligent Network (IN) platform to provide new services for individual and business clients.

Implementation of solutions designed by Tieto and Italtel will allow the client to optimize network resources management and to have faster time of reaction to the changeable conditions on the telecom services market. This mainly concerns the availability of the following services: Triple-Play (Internet, television and telephony in one) - IP interconnection between telecom operators under interconnection agreements.

Under the project, Tieto will provide a state-of-the-art and flexible Intelligent Network (IN) platform that operates in line with the logic of the connection service based on JAIN SLEE technology and its own SS7 protocol stack, while Italtel will provide a C4/C5 platform. The platform will be based on, among others, state-of-the-art i-MCS 2.0 (Italtel Multimedia Communication Suite) solution offering narrowband and broadband services for both individual and business clients and Netmatch-M, the Italtel's media and signaling gateway.

Tieto's independent solutions to manage service accounts and services used by TK Telekom are other important elements here.

i-MCS product is the evolution of the Italtel iMSS softswitch, running on a virtualized platform with full IMS compliancy.

Netmatch-M belongs to the Italtel's Netmatch family, a gateway family which enables the transformation from Media Gateway to Border Gateway, allowing Telco Operators to migrate smoothly from TDM to IP interconnections.
