Cardiff based rising music star, Rui Furtado, is celebrating following the successful shoot of his first ever music video for his debut single, Regression, which is due for immediate release. The electronic music producer and writer's dream of a full time career in music received a major boost after local South Wales business, Cars for Stars, agreed to sponsor the talented 26-year-old to help him in his quest for music stardom.

As is the case for most aspiring musicians, Rui has a full time job to support himself while he pursues his dream of a full time career in music. The Portuguese born music producer is currently employed as a sales executive at the Cardiff head office of leading luxury transport hire provider, Cars for Stars. Rui's talent and passion has not gone unnoticed by his boss, Cars for Stars Managing Director Tej Randeva, who took the unusual decision of sponsoring Rui, providing him with the financial backing to shoot his first ever music video and release his debut single.
Cars for Stars boss Tej said, "While we're taking a risk by giving Rui a leg-up in his music career as the company could potentially lose him if his music takes off, it was however obvious to me that Rui has a major talent and as a business we aim to support our employees and encourage their ambition."
The Transport Broker Group, of which Cars for Stars is a part of, was recently awarded the Investors in People Gold Award, the highest accolade attainable, which is testament to the group's commitment to supporting and nurturing employees and providing career progression opportunities.
The music video for Rui's debut single, Regression, was shot in and around Cardiff using the cityscape as its dramatic backdrop. Hailing from Lisbon in Portugal, Rui moved to the Welsh capital at the age of 18 before studying Sound Technology at The University of Glamorgan. In 2009 Rui succeeded in being named as one of the 6 finalists in the city's annual Battle of the Band competition, beating 200 other acts to win a place as a finalist.
As far as plans for the future are concerned, Rui is hard at work putting the finishing touches to his 6 track EP which will be released this summer, following on from that, Rui plans to release his debut album in early 2013 - stay tuned for exclusive new music clips and the latest information on forthcoming releases.
