On 7 and 8 June 2015 Bavaria will play host to the world. The heads of state and government of the G7 states will meet in Elmau Castle to discuss key global issues. The Free State of Bavaria will welcome its guests with a special installation - between Saturday 30 May and Friday 5 June the world famous Neuschwanstein Castle will be decorated every evening with the national colours of a different G7 member. Yesterday evening it was the United Kingdom's turn.

Great importance is attached to hospitality in Bavaria, as evidenced by the "Welcome dahoam" ("welcome home") projection set up on the occasion of the G7 summit. Yesterday, the illumination covering the entire front facade of Neuschwanstein Castle was dedicated to the UK - for 30 minutes the Union Jack adorned the facade of King Ludwig II's fairytale castle.
State Chancellery Minister Dr. Marcel Huber says: "We are delighted to welcome Prime Minister Cameron to Bavaria. We are also of the opinion that a good future can only be shaped through the cooperation of international partners. With the projection of the national flags onto one of Bavaria's most famous landmarks, we are extending a warm welcome to the heads of state and government of the G7 states." Finance Minister Dr. Markus Söder, who is responsible for Bavarian castle management, is delighted by the installation and points out: "Neuschwanstein is the best known castle in the world, so it is very fitting for the G7 summit."
Since 26 May the new website http://www.welcomedahoam.com/en/ has been online. The site provides an extraordinary insight into Bavaria, its people, its future, its nature and its traditions. "The State of Bavaria is open to the world and sees diversity as a strength. We will highlight this during the period of the summit", concludes Dr. Huber.
