VIENNA, September 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
500 participants from more than 30 countries will meet at the 10th Anniversary of the Rhodes-Forum, the annual conference of the World Public Forum - Dialogue of Civilizations
Between October 3rd and October 8th 2012
Public figures and statesmen, academics, religious leaders, business people and media experts discuss on the island of Rhodes, Greece this year´s basic theme "Global Peace and Justice".
"As an intercultural, interdisciplinary, and inter-religious platform, the Rhodes Forum wants to address major global challenges like political crises, economic changes and socio-economic problems," emphasizes Vladimir Yakunin, Founding President of the World Public Forum and also president of Russian Railways.
As a result of political and economic developments exerting a growing influence on the entire Eurasian area, national governments, international organizations, and civil society institutions are facing crucial challenges.
"We are committed to dialogue among civilizations and stand against the political and military manipulation of cultural and religious differences and values. The current crisis in the world can develop from Cold War confrontation into a hot war targeting Iran and possibly other powers. While remaining hopeful about the future, this is not a time for intellectuals to be naive," Co-Chairman Fred Dallmayr says about one of the objectives of the conference.
