St. Petersburg International Economic Forum Organizing Committee Confirms Key Topics for SPIEF 2013
ST PETERSBURG, Russia, April 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
This year, the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum will take place on June 20-22, 2013, under the theme 'Finding Resolve to Build the New Global Economy'. The Forum programme is built around four main pillars, and will include discussion sessions, panel discussions, industry breakfasts, round tables, and TV debates involving politicians and business leaders from various countries.
The first pillar, 'The Global Growth Agenda', will be dedicated to the global economy. At sessions taking place under this pillar, participants will discuss the principal factors defining world economic growth and the measures which need to be adopted in order to restructure the economy and stimulate sustainable growth. The Forum Programme will include topics which have been identified as priorities for the upcoming G20 Summit: unlocking investment to accelerate growth, sovereign debt management, reforming global finance, sustainable development of energy markets, and strengthening global trade.
The second pillar, 'Russia in the Global Agenda', will be dedicated to sessions focusing on Russian economic development and Russia's role in the global community. These sessions will feature a number of presentations from key figures in the Russian government.
The sessions under the pillar 'New Catalysts for Change' will focus on the potential for using the latest technology and innovation to find solutions to the challenges posed by society and the economy.
In addition, the Forum will once again include the acclaimed 'Conversations to Make a Difference' leadership series, in which leading international business, finance, technology, and political experts will share their perspectives on the current global situation.
The 2013 Forum will take place during Russia's G20 presidency. On June 18-19, the Forum will host the Y20 Youth Forum, and from June 19-20, the B20 Business Summit. On June 22, the Russia-ASEAN Business Forum will be held.
