It's safe to assume that the role of the military engineer is becoming more diverse, expanding into new capabilities and continually facing new challenges domestically and overseas.

Aside from these challenges, the need to train and equip military engineers, combat or otherwise, remains critical to the success of future operations, as does the need to drive new technologies and develop partnerships with industry and academia. This preparation is essential and forms the cornerstone of the discussions taking place in 2017.
