Yelena Baturina's Hotel Shows Profit After Restructuring
KITZBÜHEL, Austria, December 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
The Grand Tirolia Resort, owned by the international entrepreneur and philanthropist Yelena Baturina, has improved its financial indicators by 800.000 EUR over the last year.
After parting with a management company in early 2014, the hotel switched to self-management and has now undergone significant restructuring that has changed both the management system and the sales strategy. These measures have secured very positive results forecasting that in 2015 the hotel will have a positive GOP from its operations in the amount of 200.000 EUR versus a loss of over 600.000 EUR in 2014, thus having improved by 800.000 EUR in just one year.
The EBITDA, for both the hotel and golf-course, has a positive forecast of over 100 000 Euro for 2016, having cut its losses from 155.000 EUR in 2014 down to 77.000 EUR in 2015. This indicator had previously suffered due to contracts the resort was locked into, but in 2015 these contracts have been renegotiated which will allow 2016 to cross into positive EBITDA.
It is important to note that through the reorganisation, the hotel has succeeded in remaining as one of the top five-star hotels in Austria with overall guest satisfaction rate increased from 88% in 2014 to 91% in 2015.
Yelena Baturina representative, Gennady Terebkov said: "We have every reason to be positive about the future of Grand Tirolia now. The strategy we've developed and are implementing is proving to be highly efficient. We forecast at least 30% growth for the next year. At that we continue improving not only financial indicators, but the quality of our services as well."
The hotel's GM Christian Szabo said: "I am very proud that our efforts and hard work in 2015 are now crowned with success. Nevertheless we will continue 2016 with our strategy and a strong focus on upgrading customer experience."
The hotel currently employs over 90 people, and cooperates with multiple local suppliers. Since the opening of Grand Tirolia Yelena Baturina has made a number of significant investments to support it, and the tourist industry of the region on the whole. The sum has been directed to various purposes starting from the hotel construction to sponsoring local sports, cultural and charitable events.
