Yanmar Acquires Majority Stake in Spain-based HIMOINSA

OSAKA, Japan, April 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Yanmar Co., Ltd. announced on April 27 that it has acquired a majority equity stake in HIMOINSA (R), a Spain-based multinational company specializing in the manufacture of energy systems.

- Objectives

HIMOINSA is active in over 100 countries. Yanmar's relationship with HIMOINSA dates back to 2006, when it began supplying its diesel engines to be used in HIMOINSA generators.  

This alliance aims to enhance the partnership the two companies have enjoyed through the years, and to improve Yanmar's presence in the rapidly-growing global energy system market. Building on a broad base of operations in diesel engines and industrial machinery, Yanmar now seeks to strengthen its position and increase its overseas sales ratio by over 60% in this field.  

An increase in demand for on-site power generators and co-generation systems is expected in both commercial and private sectors. With the wealth of expertise in product development and business operations that the two companies will bring, this alliance will focus on strengthening distribution channels and on delivering innovative solutions to our worldwide customers.
