MANCHESTER, England, August 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
WRG is rebranding Hong Kong-based Serious Events, the business it acquired last year to gain a foothold in China, the world's second-largest economy.
This week Serious Events will be re-badged WRG. The change will reflect the live communication and experiential agency's global brand as it plans to continue growth in the region.
Serious Events is an event management and technical staging business that works with clients including Christian Dior, Chanel and Louis Vuitton.
WRG acquired Serious Events from Serious Staging in November 2012 to strengthen its ability to support and service international clients.
The acquisition extended WRG's sector expertise and geographical reach, adding Hong Kong to its list of offices, which also includes London, Manchester, Abu Dhabi, Doha and New York.
The Hong Kong team, led by General Manager Cliff Zenker, this week also moved into new offices within the St John's Building on Garden Road in the heart of Hong Kong's Central Business District.
General Manager Cliff Zenker said: "Since the acquisition of Serious Events, we've grown our presence working with international clients in Hong Kong and China who've benefited from our heritage and understanding of the local market.
"As our clients also gain advantage through increased collaboration with WRG's offices across the world and the depth of our sector expertise, it is the right time to bring Serious Events under the WRG umbrella."
WRG is a live communication and experiential agency with offices in London, New York, Abu Dhabi, Doha and Hong Kong. It employs over 180 permanent staff.
Over the past 25 years, WRG has experienced consistent growth, and in 2011, secured investment from leading mid-market private equity firm LDC to support a buy-and-build strategy, particularly in the emerging key markets of central and eastern Asia.
The agency designs and delivers highly innovative live and experiential communication for global clients with deep sector experience in healthcare, government, telecoms & technology, automotive, retail, luxury & fashion, energy & engineering and financial services.
WRG is also renowned for having conceived, produced and delivered globally televised live events such as the G20 Summit in 2009 and the 2010 Papal visit.
