Despite media reports of women executives encountering 'glass ceilings' in achieving senior level positions, women interim managers - high level executives brought in for short term assignments - are showing a different picture.
A recent study by Impact Executives, a leading provider of interim managers, revealed that women were one-third (33%) more likely to be successful at gaining an interim assignment than men.
Although the vast majority of interim managers are male (80%), the study suggested that women were bringing new skills and approaches to the interim manager role which made them particularly attractive for short term executive assignments.
