Wirecard Supports Point-of-Sales Payment Gateway for Multi-Acquirers in Indonesia

Wirecard Indonesia PT Prima Vista Solusi, a subsidiary of Wirecard AG, recently launched the Point-of-Sales Payment Gateway that enables retailers to process card transactions through multiple acquiring banks. With this, Wirecard offers latest internet technology at the Point-of-Sale as the infrastructure encompasses multi-brand POS software that supports payment by international cards such as Visa and MasterCard, as well as National Debit cards. In addition, it offers proprietary NFC wallets and bill payments, a POS gateway hosted in Wirecard's PCI-DSS certified Data Centers with switching, terminal management, transaction monitoring and merchant reporting capabilities.

Wirecard's Point-of-Sales Payment Gateway infrastructure shall initially support the Indonesian local banks and retailers, then potentially be extended to support acquirers and retailers globally. By processing Point-of-Sales transactions through multiple major acquiring banks, retailers will be able to extend to customers a wider variety of card programs offered by participating acquirers, such as pay-by-installments and loyalty points. In addition, retailers are able to receive near real-time detailed report of their POS transactions that capture multiple card schemes and multiple acquirers for ease of reconciliation.

On the other hand, the participating acquiring banks benefit from a lower cost-per-transaction since the Point-of-Sales infrastructure is shared by multiple acquirers, while still getting maximum on-us transaction. Wirecard POS terminal will also be the retailer's first-choice since it will be directly integrated to the retailers' cash register system.  "With the integration of multi-acquirers POS terminals, the costs are divided equally to participating acquirers.
