Wirecard and awinta Agree Collaboration for Payment Solutions at Pharmacy POS

Wirecard, the leading payment service provider, and awinta, the market leader for pharmacy software in the German healthcare industry, are collaborating on payment solutions at the POS (Point of Sale): Wirecard is to provide hardware, processing and credit card acceptance to awinta and will additionally assume responsibility for payment processing as an acquirer. Subsequently, awinta intends to offer the technology company's entire portfolio at the POS.
awinta is one of the leading providers of data collection, processing and interpretation, as well as physical concerns for pharmacies, doctors' surgeries, hospitals and care services. With a focus on cash register systems for pharmacies, the company currently serves around 7,000 customers in Germany with a sales volume of EUR 50m to 100m and offers merchandise management systems that optimally map daily workflow and healthcare policy frameworks. To begin with, Wirecard will provide awinta with credit card acceptance for Visa, MasterCard, Maestro and VPay as well as NFC at the POS.
