WHITE RIVER, South Africa, August 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
White River Manor, an executive drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a five-star rating, becoming one of only two such centres in South Africa.
White River Manor started as the dream of Giles and Jeanine Fourie to provide the level of care and luxury in a rehabilitation centre only seen before in the US or Europe. The dream finally became a reality when, together with their long-time friend and American business partner, Jerry Hartless, they purchased a beautiful five-star lodge where they were married and transformed it into a luxury treatment facility.
White River Manor, situated in the lush subtropical Lowveld region, can at this stage accommodate 30 clients each in a luxurious ensuite chalet type room with outside showers, wi-fi and flat screen TV. There is also a five-star restaurant that caters to everyone's special needs such as diabetic, vegetarian, Halaal, weight loss diets etc.
Making full use of the tranquil and beautiful surroundings clients are treated by Psychiatrists, Psychologists, and a professional medical team on site. Weekends are set aside for clients to experience exhilarating activities such as quad bike riding, ziplining, Kruger Park safaris, helicopter rides, etc. as well as therapeutic trips which include Horse whisperers, Elephant sanctuaries and many more.
In addition, the programme allows the time and space for the Executive to keep in touch with their business and family, who may visit at weekends and join the client for meals and any recreational activities planned.
Studies have shown that the more comfortable and tranquil an environment, the more receptive individuals are to healing and recovery, therefore beyond addiction therapy, White River Manor has assisted many clients with dual diagnosis such as depression, anxiety, trauma, stress and burnout.
With the success of their established rehabilitation programmes, the White River Manor team made the decision to branch out and also offer an affordable solution to the many individuals suffering from drug and alcohol addiction but cannot afford private care. With that in mind, White River Recovery Centre was formed.
The new centre is located adjacent to White River Manor and has its own special character. Situated in peaceful surroundings - it makes clients feel at ease and keen to participate in the recovery process. Clients are encouraged to get involved in life skills activites such as welding, pottery, arts and crafts, as well as developmental courses, including gardening, cooking and sporting activities amongst other things.
A point of note is that the White River Recovery Centre's 12-week programme is almost entirely covered by most major medical aid companies, making it very accessible.
