ACE is the leading trade association in its sector, with around 550 firms as members, including some of the world's leading consultancy and engineering companies. Its powerful membership allows it to take the lead in representing the interests of the sector to government, the private sector and the media.
In his 36-year career, Taylor has been involved in engineering design for projects both in the UK and overseas. He has been responsible for the completion of numerous commercial, retail, residential, leisure and community projects as well as involved in the master planning of over £2bn of mixed-use urban regeneration developments.
Taylor stepped onto Waterman Group's main board in 2003 and became CEO in 2007. In 2013, he launched a strategic growth plan, which included a major restructure of the business. In the last two years Waterman has shown UK revenue growth of 48% and increased the number of employees by 27%.
The ACE is announcing another five new executives to the Board bringing with them not only wide and varied experience in the sector, but also a fresh impetus and perspective. Dr Nelson Ogunshakin OBE Chief Executive of ACE said in a statement; "I personally am looking forward to listening, working and engaging with their strategic contribution to secure the future direction of ACE."
Commenting on his new board appointment, Taylor said; "It is a great honour and responsibility to represent ACE. There are real opportunities in the market place but also serious challenges that we need to address. I look forward to playing a key role in the organisation's strategic plans and working with our members to make a difference in our multi billion pound industry."
