LONDON, August 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
Łukasz Wejchert, CEO of Dirlango, becomes a strategic partner of Virgin Mobile Polska
Virgin Mobile Polska will be launching soon. This will mark the first country launch from the recently formed Virgin Mobile Central and Eastern Europe team. Virgin Mobile Polska will tap in to knowledge and best practice from Virgin Mobile, the world’s biggest international virtual operator, and their experienced local business partner Łukasz Wejchert, the CEO of Dirlango.
The Virgin Group encompasses over 400 diverse companies, employing more than 50 thousand people, in 35 countries. The Virgin Group’s worldwide income reached $20 billion in 2011.
Virgin Mobile is a global mobile brand formed in 1999, in the UK. Today it has almost 20 million users in 8 countries. In addition to the UK, it operates successfully in Australia (since 2000), United States (2001), Canada (2005), South Africa (2006), France (2006), India (2008) and Chile (2012).
Virgin Mobile decided to launch its Central and Eastern Europe activities in Poland because it is a large market where mobile customers, particularly Pre-Pay customers, are poorly served by the existing network operators, creating a great opportunity for Virgin Mobile to differentiate itself.
“We have been watching the development of the Central and Eastern European mobile telecommunication markets for years and we are convinced the Polish market is now ready for an operator like Virgin Mobile Polska” says Kristian Myrup, CEO of Virgin Mobile Central and Eastern Europe. “We will bring first class service to a market where Pre-Pay customers have been treated like second class citizens” he adds (www.virginmobilecee.com).
Another essential ingredient, in the formula for Virgin Mobile success in Poland, is finding a business partner that understands the local market and its needs perfectly, but at the same time understands and shares the unique philosophy of the Virgin Group.
“Virgin owes its worldwide success to the extraordinary people that build it together. This is why I am happy that from the very beginning Virgin Mobile Polska is going to receive substantial support from a local business partner, Łukasz Wejchert “ says Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin Group.
Łukasz Wejchert, formerly CEO of Onet.pl, Poland’s largest online media company, is now the CEO of Dirlango, a company founded to build innovative, digital businesses, through the smart application of convergent technologies; optimising and integrating the on-line and off-line worlds (www.dirlango.com).
“I very much admire the innovative business approach of Richard Branson, as well as Virgin’s track record of success in diverse businesses worldwide. I am delighted to be part of Virgin Mobile Polska – it is an exciting business with great potential” says Łukasz Wejchert.
