Veeno, the Italian Wine Café: a Successful and Growing New Concept in the Food & Drink Industry
MANCHESTER, England, January 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
Veeno is a successful new concept of "Italian wine café" to promote the culture of "Italian Aperitivo", which means casual dining in a friendly atmosphere.
Launched in Manchester in November 2013, Veeno opened in Leeds last July and recently in York.
Veeno serves high-quality wines (produced in the family vineyard in Sicily, Italy) at pub prices, alongside small plates that complement the drinks, such as traditional Italian meats and regional cheeses.
Special products are offered such as the winetasting menu or the "Apericena", a weekly event on Wednesday where customers can enjoy free unlimited buffet following the traditions of the Italians.
The owners Nino Caruso and Andrea Zecchino are now speaking to investors with aims to expand to 10 locations in the next 18 months. Franchising will be considered as an option to grow even quicker.
Mr Caruso confirmed: "It's our ambition to become a national chain. There's a pool of cities we're currently looking at; depending on how things go with investors, our next launch is likely to be either Liverpool or Newcastle."
He said: "It's a place where people can really relax. It's not a place that's trendy, like a lounge bar."
