Vasaloppet China in Changchun Enters the World's Ski Classics, with International Live Broadcasting
CHANGCHUN, China, Dec. 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Vasaloppet China 2017 will be held on January 4 in Jingyuetan Park outside of Changchun city. Ski Classics, the world's long distance ski championship, will be included in Vasaloppet China as an event for the first time. 77 countries and regions will have access to live broadcasting of the event.
First arranged in Sweden over 90 years ago, Vasaloppet was introduced into Changchun, Jilin province of China in 2003. China became the 4th country to hold this competition after Sweden, the U.S. and Japan. Vasaloppet China has been hosted by Changchun for 14 times in a row, which helps the city to develop its winter tourism and promote the popularization of cross country skiing.
Developed in Europe, Ski Classics is the world's long distance ski championship, attracting the world's top-level professional cross-country skiers. Ski Classics' tour in Changchun will be live broadcasted in Norway, Finland, Sweden, Czech Republic, Italy and so on. The audience can watch the live stream on TV, computer or cell phone.
Apart from Ski Classics, seven more categories will be held on Vasaloppet China 2017, including Vasaloppet China 50 km, Blueberry Vasa 25 km, Mass Skiing event, the 6th College Student Skiing Event etc. More than ten thousand skiers are expected to participate, including winter Olympic winners and ski amateurs.
