One of the UK's major universities will open a new London Centre this autumn, a move that will see the University of South Wales gain its first physical presence in the capital city.
Based in the heart of London's Docklands financial district, the Centre will deliver a range of postgraduate and professional courses as well as some at undergraduate level.
Vice-Chancellor of the University Professor Julie Lydon said, "We are proud to be announcing the opening of the University of South Wales's London Centre and look forward to extending the reach of Wales's largest university. This exciting development will enable both busy executives and full-time students to benefit from the wealth of knowledge and expertise that exists within this university."
Courses run from the Centre will include those in the areas of law and financial services and information security. These will include short CPD courses such as one-day courses in computer forensics and network security and defence.
Masters-level courses in property law, accounting and Islamic banking will also form part of the new portfolio.
The London Centre is located at Docklands Academy and will provide students with first-class facilities and an inspirational environment to learn and grow professionally. Students will have access to a range of learning resources, including a fully equipped library, computer labs and an extensive range of online support materials.
Professor Lydon continued, "What is fundamental about our London Centre is that we will be bringing in the expertise of our own academics to teach on these courses. For example, we have some of the UK's leading academics in the field of cyber security at the University and they will be developing and teaching on the new courses.
