ALSAGER, England, August 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
Calling all bathroom singers! Do you sing in the shower? Belt it out in the bath? Warble at the washbasin? Do your singing talents rival The Voice or X Factor? If so, this is your opportunity to shine, win great prizes - and importantly help raise funds for Children in Need.

With the emphasis on fun and fundraising Twyford Bathrooms has launched its national 'Bathroom Singer of the Year 2014' competition, designed to discover original bathroom singing talent.
From Monday 1 September the call is going out across the nation to anyone over 18 who loves to 'belt it out in the bathroom'. Entrants will be able to log on to http://www.twyfordbathroomsinger.co.uk for full details of how to register and donate their entry fee of £10 (or more!) to Children in Need, before uploading a 90 second-2 minute maximum clip of themselves, their friends or workmates, singing their hearts out in the bathroom. Closing date for entries is midnight Wednesday 22nd October.
Background music is optional, and if you need a prop to perform and you don't think the shower head, bath brush or loofa is enough, the first 500 singers to register and donate have the option to receive a free 'Bathroom Singer of the Year 2014' sponge-microphone to make filming their clip more fun. But no nudity please - just good, clean fun! All dubious entries will be flushed down the 'digital loo'!
The best performances, oozing original talent, will appear across Twyford's social media platforms for public feedback. Entries will then be whittled down by the judging panel to a final shortlist of six who will compete on a specially designed 'Bathroom Stage' at the national Grand Finale Sing-off before an invited audience on Saturday 8 November 2014 at a venue to be announced near Twyford's Stoke HQ. The winner will receive the soon-to-be coveted 'Golden Mic', plus £1,000 in cash prize money, with runners up also receiving cash prizes.
The judging panel, all with links to Twyford's home town of Stoke-on-Trent, will be headed by celebrity TV presenter and singer Jonathan Wilkes, assisted by professional vocal coach and singer Sally Rivers, who will also perform with her band Aphrodite, Yvonne Orgill, CEO of the Bathroom Manufacturers Association (BMA), Martin Tideswell, deputy editor of The Sentinel, and Sabine Mané, Twyford's trade marketing manager.
So whether you're pitch perfect, or have a voice that makes your cat yowl in protest, it's your personality - and your quirky originality - the judges will be looking for. So, clear that throat. Tune up those vocal chords - and get bathroom singing. And good luck!
Sabine Mané, trade marketing manager at Twyford Bathrooms comments: "Bathroom Singer of the Year 2014 gives us the opportunity to engage with and involve the local community - with the added incentive of collectively trying to raise as much money as possible for Children in Need. We're hoping that both the general public and our trade customers will get on board with us to have a bit of good old-fashioned fun and laughter for an excellent cause."
