Two winners of the Falling Walls Lab Kyiv conference will present their ideas at the Finale, competing with entries from 20 other countries
KYIV, Ukraine, Sept. 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The first Falling Walls Lab Kyiv, a qualifying stage of the renowned international forum for young academics and entrepreneurs, was recently held in Ukraine.

Thirty Ukrainian contestants presented their transformative projects on social challenges in the '3 minutes, 3 slides' format to the influential jury of researchers and business leaders.
The first place and a ticket to the Finale was given to Oleksandr Shymanko for his 'Smart Pillow' health gadget that records its owners' head shape, checks pulse, tracks sleep, and wakes them at the best time according to vital signs.
The Lab Kyiv's Technology Partner and one of the sponsors, UTIEA (Ukrainian Technology & Innovation Export Alliance formed by the six leading IT Software Engineering outsourcing companies in Ukraine), awarded one additional ticket to the Finale to the second-place winner, Oksana Borysenko for her 'Enable Talk' gloves equipped with sensors that recognize sign language and present it as a text on a smartphone's screen, to be then converted to speech. The Alliance represents Ukrainian IT Export industry, which employs over 74,000 IT specialists inside Ukraine and brings over $2,4 billion of export revenue to help Ukraine's economy. Its goal is to do everything to increase the number of people involved in the industry and the ability of those innovators in Ukraine to get their ideas out into the global market and drive innovation with pride and economic benefits to the country.
The Global Finale will take place on 8 November 2015 in Berlin.
