The new Arsenal credit card from MBNA now offers eligible new customers zero percent interest on balance transfers and money transfers for up to 24 months from the account opening date* - up from 16 months previously.
The offer applies to transfers made within the first 90 days (a 2.99 percent handling fee applies to balance transfers and a 4.00 percent fee applies to money transfers), and the card also offers zero percent interest on purchases made in the first three months of account opening.
The new Arsenal credit card from MBNA is available for consumers to apply for now at
http://www.arsenal.com/arsenalcreditcard.
For every £1 spent on the card, Arsenal credit card customers get one reward point, and the points can be redeemed for exclusive club-based rewards such as stadium tours, merchandise and visits to Arsenal's training ground. In addition to the rewards programme, MBNA makes a contribution to the club's youth academy every time a new customer makes a card purchase, at no extra cost to them.
Michael Donald, Marketing and Commercial executive for MBNA, said: "This is the longest balance transfer offer we've ever launched for our comprehensive range of sports card programmes in the UK, so we're delighted to be able to make this new deal available to Arsenal fans across the UK.
"Over the last 10 years, we have forged a strong relationship with Arsenal Football Club, and we are continuing to work together to develop a product that offers supporters a great deal, whilst contributing to the future of the club."
Vinai Venkatesham, Arsenal's Sales and Marketing director, added: "Since we started working together, MBNA has consistently developed products which appeal directly to our fan base. The new Arsenal credit card is another excellent example of this, offering our fans in the UK an extended balance transfer window and a range of opportunities to get closer to the club through the exclusive rewards programme."
Anyone applying for the new credit card offer can use MBNA's new "eligibility checker", which allows consumers to check their eligibility for the card without a credit search registering on their credit file, and before continuing with a full application. Once a full application is completed, an online application decision could be made in minutes and the card delivered within 10 days.
The affinity relationship MBNA has had with Arsenal in the UK since 2004 is one of MBNA's most successful sports credit card programmes.
Representative example 18.9% p.a. variable on card purchases. This is equivalent to 18.9% APR representative variable based on a credit limit of £1200.
* Credit is available, subject to status, only to UK residents aged 18 or over. Calls may be monitored and/or recorded for quality and training purposes and for compliance with regulations.
