Tickets.com Confirmed as Official Ticketing Supplier for Aberdeen FC
MILTON KEYNES, England, March 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
The long term agreement will see the club using Tickets.com's ticketing system ProVenueMax™, who cited the product's flexibility and functionality as key factors in the decision to switch suppliers
Tickets.com, the industry leading provider of global ticketing and marketing solutions, has today announced a long term agreement with Scottish Premier League side Aberdeen FC.
ProVenueMax™ will be used as the platform for supporting all ticketing requirements for the club, starting with season ticket renewals from summer 2013, whilst also facilitating all commercial activities at the club including corporate hospitality sales, advertising and bookings for community courses. The new software will be fully integrated with the club's existing technologies, including the stadium's SKIDATA access control system.
Commenting on the new agreement, David Bowman, IT manager for Aberdeen FC said: "Our decision to seek a new ticketing supplier was based on a number of factors; primarily, we wanted a system that would not only facilitate our day to day ticketing operation, but one that we could use to manage all commercial activities at the club efficiently and dependably. Throughout the negotiation process, the team at Tickets.com has been highly professional, very understanding of our requirements and able to provide a solution that offers advanced functionality and flexibility, something that our previous supplier wasn't able to match."
The four star Service Desk Institute (SDI) accreditation received by Tickets.com in 2012 was also a contributing factor in the decision to switch providers; "We value greatly the support and levels of customer service that we receive from our suppliers and through speaking with other clubs, we soon became aware of Tickets.com's accomplishments in this field," confirmed David.
Tickets.com was awarded the SDI accreditation in July 2012 in recognition of all aspects of the company's service desk management and client support and remains the only ticketing focused organisation to achieve the maximum accolade.
Aberdeen FC is the latest addition to a portfolio of more than 300 UK based sport, arts and entertainment venues. This new agreement further strengthens the company's position in professional football with a growing number of clubs now working with Tickets.com including Scottish Premier League side Dundee FC, English Premiership sides Chelsea FC, Southampton FC, West Bromwich Albion FC and recent Capital One Cup winners Swansea FC, alongside a host of Football League clubs.
In a first for English football, Tickets.com partnered with Digonex and existing client Derby County FC last season as the Championship side became the first English club to introduce demand based ticket pricing via a new partnership with Tickets.com and Digonex.
Giles Bayliss, business development manager for Tickets.com was instrumental in securing the deal with Aberdeen FC, working closely with the club to determine a solution to its bespoke ticketing requirements. Commenting on the agreement, he said: "From very early on in our discussions with David and his team, it was clear to see how well ProVenueMax™ would align with the club's strategic aims. Aberdeen FC is a progressive, forwarding-thinking business that has very clear objectives and ProVenueMax™ will bring about significant benefits for both the club and its customers."
David Bowman confirmed that Aberdeen FC is continuing with its well-documented search for a new site, as restrictions at the existing location mean that Pittodrie Stadium cannot be extended: "We are still working hard to achieve our aspiration of a new ground, which would bring with it both challenges and opportunities. We see our new partnership with Tickets.com as a key milestone for having the processes in place for when we are ready to move to a modern purpose built facility."
As well as hosting all home matches for Aberdeen FC, the club's existing 21,421 all-seated stadium is also used for international matches and was the venue for Scotland's 1-0 win over Estonia last month as Gordon Strachan took charge of the national side for the first time.
In recent years, Pittodrie Stadium has also hosted a number of Scottish Rugby Union test matches and concerts including Elton John and Rod Stewart.
