Thorn Medical PLC ("Thorn" or the "Company"), the international healthcare group, today announces the appointment of Roderick Stead as Group Finance Director, with immediate effect.

Mr Stead joins the Board from PTS Consulting, the global IT Consulting and Project Management firm, for whom he arranged a management buyout in 1990 and served in a number of capacities including Chief Financial Officer, during which time the company increased in size by 600%, competed a number of local and international acquisitions and secured growth capital investment. Subsequent roles included Chief Risk Officer, when he established a Compliance, Legal & Risk function, and Non-Executive Director.
Prior to that, Mr Stead qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Anderson before moving into a number of commercially-engaged finance roles, before moving into financial consulting, specializing in working with companies in financial difficulty.
