Only 7 months after the first download, the application has reached 80,000 users and hundreds of daily downloads in 119 countries, and been translated into English and Spanish, with a constant growth trend.
Dogalize offers services for dog owners; it's a social network where users can share their experiences, an online team of vets and professional educators is on hand to answer questions from users, and there's even a geolocation system and maps to help users find dog-friendly restaurants and hotels, shops, breeding farms, guest houses for dogs and more.
Although this start-up was born in Italy, it has found great popularity in other countries. Following a review by The Guardian, Dogalize was awarded Best Mobile App in Britain at the Lovie Awards, numerous other awards from the Interactive Media Association (BIMA) and, recently, an invitation to the Dublin Web Summit as an Alpha Start Up.
Sara Colnago, CEO of Business Competence, stresses the importance of these awards: "The awards are not only a reason to be proud, but also a stimulus for the whole team to continue to grow and invest in Dogalize. We are our own incubators, using the profits of Business Competence to continue to self-finance it. Our hard work has not gone unnoticed: the first international investors have begun to knock at the door of our Milanese office."
