The Bridge of Jewellery Trade Istanbul Jewelry Show March 2012 Opens its Doors

ISTANBUL, March 22, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --

The jewellery industry will gather for 34th time at the region's prime event - ISTANBUL JEWELRY SHOW - at the CNR Expo, from today till 25 March 2012.

The fair is organized by UBM Rotaforte and Turkiye Ekonomi Bankasi (TEB), which acts as the main sponsor of the event. TEB has provided special services to the jewellery industry through its gold banking department since 1996.

Global Jewellery Industry Professionals gather at this Exhibition

The 34th ISTANBUL JEWELRY SHOW is the largest edition in its history.  Over 1,000 exhibiting companies from 24 countries and regions will exhibit their products and services across 23,500 sqm in 5 halls. It is organised along product lines to make it easier for visitors to find the products they are looking for, and for the exhibitors to meet the right buyers. The fair offers a platform where 80 percent of the export connections of the entire Turkish jewellery industry are made.

Leading local jewellery and watch companies participating in the exhibition include Altinbas, Atasay, Assos, Asgold, Arpas, Aris, Eris, Gulaylar, Seyrekoglu, Zen Diamond, and Timeart (Belmond, Quantum). There are also international pavilions from Belgium, Italy, Hong Kong, Thailand.

More than 30,000 visitors are expected to attend the exhibition, coming from the Middle East, East Europe, North Africa, Russia, the Turkic Republics, as well as all of Turkey. This year's show is further enriched with visitors from America and Asia. In particular, there are confirmed buyer delegations from Russia, Arab countries, Dubai, Iran and Europe.

World's Largest Emerald

Owned by Daga family, one of the most famous families in India, the Daga Emerald is universally recognized as the world's biggest pure gemstone at 12,360 carat and weighs 2.5 kg. Since it is a national treasure of India, it cannot be sold, but is under the protection of Daga family. For the first time, the priceless Daga Emerald will be displayed at the Istanbul Jewelry Show, courtesy of Valentine Diamond. It has taken elaborate security measures to deliver the gem and it will remain heavily guarded throughout the exhibition.

Another novelty this year at the Istanbul Jewelry Show will be a specially designed watch pavilion in Hall 5.
